Beste commissieleden,
Hierbij informeer ik jullie dat de laatste (redactionele) stemronde voor de Europese normen over biostimulanten binnenkort geopend gaan worden (begin juni). Bij de opening krijgen jullie een aparte email over hierover met een hyperlink per conceptnorm naar het stemportaal. Om de conceptnormen en het commentaar vanuit Nederland te bespreken, is het handig om een normcommissievergadering te plannen. Zouden jullie wat tijd in jullie agenda willen reserveren om de conceptnormen (weer) te bekijken (let op, het zijn 33 conceptnormen). Wanneer de laatste stemronde is geopend, krijgen jullie ook een datumenquête om deze vergadering in te plannen.
Daarnaast wil ik jullie informeren over een online workshop georganiseerd door de "Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT)" over een technische studie die zij in opdracht van de Europese Commissie uitvoeren over "assessment of safety and environmental risks as well as the agronomic efficiency of microorganisms used in microbial plant biostimulants". The AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, as entrusted by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship, and SMEs, is conducting a technical study concerning the assessment of safety and environmental risks as well as the agronomic efficiency of microorganisms used in microbial plant biostimulants. This technical study aims to facilitate the incorporation of additional microorganisms into Component Material Category (CMC) 7, as stipulated in Annex II of Regulation (EU) 2019/1009 (Fertilising Products Regulation, FPR).
In frame of the contract work we do for the European Commission we will organise an online Stakeholder Workshop (7 June 2024, 09:30 – 12:30) to obtain input from different stakeholders and to ensure that our draft proposals accurately address the needs of relevant stakeholders within the biostimulant space. In this workshop we will present and discuss strategies to perform microbial risk assessments and define agronomic efficiency criteria for new CMC 7 microbial biostimulants. This will be the first of in total two workshops organised in the scope of the study, with the second one being scheduled towards the end of 2024.
